Same goes for picking something up off of a desk or crate, if it’s right around your chest you could screw that up too. Your grenades are on your chest, if you’re reloading your gun close to your chest and go to pull back the lever you can just accidentally grab a grenade if it’s too close. Same goes with the control system of grabbing your guns and grenades. Like a real soldier you need to know your weapons really well and so as this game goes along you will probably get frustrated as it’s tough to keep track and sort of memorize how each weapon works.there’s A LOT of them. What this means is every gun reloads differently and in the heat of the battle having a weapon that needs you to pull a lever after reloading and some that don’t can really screw you if you are changing guns a lot. This is both amazing and kinda frustrating. This has a very full array of WW2 style weapons all with their unique handling and reloading styles. Alyx had like 3 guns and they were pretty basic 1-hand style weapons. Where this shines over Alyx is the sheer amount of weaponry available.

It may not be a perfectly polished game from start to finish but it has enough great moments to keep you coming back and enjoying a really fun VR game. BUT that being said this is still one of the better VR games out there, and I do recommend it. I applaud them for their ambition and for patching it up a bit after release, but it needed a bit more time in the oven so to speak. MOH went big, really big but the execution was pretty rough. Comparing this to Alyx you can see two different approaches, that game kept things kind of simple and executed things nearly perfectly. There’s an amazing game at its core here, it's just not executed well enough. They shot for the moon and kind of missed. And if it had been released a year or so earlier it might have done that, and we might have forgiven it’s shortcomings but with the release of HL:Alyx and Boneworks and Saints and Sinners, this game falls short in enough ways that it’s not the must play VR game it aimed for. They seemed to have wanted to create the biggest, most varied, grand daddy of all VR games that would blow everything else out of the water.

To sum it up this was an overly ambitious project.

So I thought I’d put together my thoughts having played through it for the first time last week. So most reviews out there are Day 1 reviews, since then they’ve patched it up and bit and fixed up some things, some of the issues mentioned in the reviews have been fixed, some haven’t.
